It was SUPER sunny out.

It's so. hot. out.

technically I'm supposed to wear protective lenses each time I would expose my eyes to the sun.

I have a growth-thing on my eye that will grow with sunlight.

this is the first pair of sunglasses I've had in three years. 

I like them. Yay for random finds and Tai Pan Trading.

My Morning Jacket

Went to see this lovely band yesterday in Salt Lake for the Twilight Concert Series.

One of the best concerts I've been to. AND they played my favorite song very last.

Valley of the Thick

I'm slowly gathering the courage to do open mics by myself.

I think I might have had that courage once, but I must have lost it somewhere along the way.

Meanwhile I watch Bend it Like Beckham and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging
because they're funny, and they make me feel like I understand british humor.
Love it.

the man and the sea

This week has been quite lovely. 

I know most people get down on rainy days, but to me they're always just so cozy.

I've always loved the fall-like weather and it means a more to me now because of my little missionary friend, who will return in such blustery weather a year and six months from the 30th.

Also, this week I was fortunate to make a lovely musical discovery.

we ventured to the nearest Sweet Tooth Fairy for some delectable cupcakes.
So tasty.

I tried The Elvis,
which is a banana cupcake
with peanutbutter frosting,
dipped in chocolate,
topped with chopped peanuts.
Pay no attention to my expression. It was SO good.

 Everyone always hates on Chuck-a-rama but it's been a family tradition for years.
The lemon chiffon is my favorite, but look at those cinnamon pull-aparts and tell me they don't look delicious.
