Smells like Sun

It's so. hot. out.
technically I'm supposed to wear protective lenses each time I would expose my eyes to the sun.
I have a growth-thing on my eye that will grow with sunlight.
this is the first pair of sunglasses I've had in three years.

I like them. Yay for random finds and Tai Pan Trading.
love it.

rod

We used to have a trampoline
until my little brother and his fat friends broke it.
Jokes, they're not really fat. It was an old trampoline and there were like 12 of them on it at once.

That's me sitting on what remains of our trampoline. So sad. I loved that guy.

A friend of my sister's made that lovely feathery guy. Pretty huh?

it was nice out today, just wish I had a trampoline.
loved it.

We saw moonrise kingdom yesternight.

Makenzi stole me hat...
You guys should watch moonrise kingdom, twas a good'un.
Love it.

Inteeeeervieweee

I'm looking for work lately.

I should tell you that I've just discovered Jane By Design and I pretty much love it.
It's funny to me how even though I don't necessarily have a typical fashion sense, let alone high fashion, I love, love, love shows about the fashion world (Ugly Betty, and now Jane, Project Runway, I've also been intrigued to see what Drop Dead Diva is all about...).
So this ensemble was a bit Janey inspired.

I interviewed at ol' Macy's today and this is what I wore:

This skirt is actually one of a kind. An original made by a woman from Buenos Aires, Argentina who my sister taught on her mission there. Lovely isn't it?

The interviewer said her favorite part about working there was the people.
Love it.
Wish me luck.

the man and the sea

This week has been quite lovely.
I know most people get down on rainy days, but to me they're always just so cozy.
I've always loved the fall-like weather and it means a more to me now because of my little missionary friend, who will return in such blustery weather a year and six months from the 30th.

Also, this week I was fortunate to make a lovely musical discovery.
her name is Hannah Hays. and we've been introduced by way of various socials mediums.

listen to this, please.

also, you may download it for free, here

Loving it.

family photos

my brother wanted us all to dress the same. light purple shirts and jeans.
two problems.
I don't wear jeans. I had one pair that I used in high school whenever it was required of me to wear them.
I lost track of them a long time ago.

and we did the a similar thing the last time we did family pictures. It was ok, but I felt like it could have been better.

I felt boring. my sister and I were the only ones who shook things up a bit.

This year I said no to boring. they made fun of me for my accessories, looking like a grandma.
But I like it.

much better.
Love it.

Happy Krystal birthday

Krystal and Dr. Suess share a birthday.
She's officially twenty.
He would have been One-hundred-and-nine (or near there...).

my grandmother made this sweater for my mother.
She was a knitting fiend.
I miss her.

I tried out The Dainty Squid's zigzag nail polish tutorial. She's awesome.
It was so easy. If you decide to try it, I would LOVE it if you would post it and then hit me up with a link in the comment section. I'm dying to see your creativity.

In honor Krystal's newfound age,
we ventured to the nearest Sweet Tooth Fairy for some delectable cupcakes.
So tasty.

I tried The Elvis,
which is a banana cupcake
with peanutbutter frosting,
dipped in chocolate,
topped with chopped peanuts.
Pay no attention to my expression. It was SO good.

Happy Birthday Krystal!
Love it.
